mysterious pain in your heels, joints, or chest, it might signify AS. Some AS patients first feel some sort of discomfort in the heel or intense pain and rigidness in the joints of the wrists, elbows, knees, or other joints instead of experiencing straight back pain.
Many patients’ rib bones are disturbed where the spine crosses them, or in other words, where the ribs and the sternum (breastbone) meet. This triggers stiffness in the chest, which makes breathing quite difficult.
