The costs of going through pregnancy or having an abortion are not covered under medical insurance. Even if you have to undergo an emergency Caesarean section, you cannot recover the costs from your insurer. That is because insurance providers do not consider pregnancy as a medical condition.
Regarding abortions, insurers only provide cover if the termination is carried out to save the mother’s life. No insurance cover is provided in the event of voluntary abortions.
